The
Matenadaran
named after St. Mesrop Mashtots is a depository of old
Armenian manuscripts. It
is one of the world’s oldest and richest book
depositories and the largest center of Armenian
manuscript research and preservation in the world. The
Matenadaran is located in Yerevan, the capital of
Armenia. More than 17,000 manuscripts and nearly
300,000 archival documents are kept here.
