Feast of our Lady of the
Assumption
Sunday 15 August 2010.
Dear parishioners the feast of our church is upon
us once again and we are preparing as a community
to celebrate this most important feast of our
church in the traditional way. We all thank our
Lady for all her graces that she had blessed us
with, during the past twelve months. It is, in a
way, our church’s “mother day”, and don’t
we all honour mothers on our mother’s day?
There will also be the blessing of the grapes
ceremony and as usual those who wish to donate the
grapes please contact the Church. |
|
Annual
Bazaar 15 August 2010.
All our parishioners are invited on this
feast day to take part in our annual bazaar;
The bazaar will be declared open immediately
after the holy mass. Many surprises await
you including our famous Armenian “kebab”.
There will also be games and entertainment
for all especially for the children. We all
hope to see all there so that the day can be
a truly family fun filled day. |

First
Holy Communion - The 2008
first Holy Communion ceremony and mass will be
held in April. Fr Parsegh has
already commenced preparing the young so that they
fully understand the meaning of the most holy
sacrament, and so that they become worthy to
receive the body and blood of Jesus our Saviour.
Holy
Mass in English - Yes, Fr.
Parsegh and his Church Council have decided to
introduce Holy Mass in the English Language in our
Parish.
Starting March 9th the Holy mass will said in the English
language, that is every second Sunday of the
month. This decision has been taken to ensure that
our many young boys and girls who are not
conversant in the Armenian language, can still
attend Mass (in the Armenian rite with some
beautiful traditional hymns), in our church.
We cannot stress the importance of young
blood in our church; the young are the future for
our Parish and Church, without them we are doomed,
there will be no one around to take over from the
old generation, and if we as parents cannot get
the message across to them, then let us ask
ourselves, who will?
So please remember the
date and let us pray to our Lord, to make the
young hear our call.
Sunday School -
With great pleasure, we announce the commencement
of our Sunday school for Kiddies; albeit in small
numbers but we are confident the numbers will grow
in due course; those who have missed our previous
announcements can contact Fr. Parsegh to enrol in
these classes; it is a great opportunity to
introduce our young to the Armenian language,
religion and other activities. As we have
mentioned in our previous bulletins, the classes
will be given during Holy Mass, which means that
the parents can attend Mass while their children
are being taught language and religion.
So for your children’s sake and our
community’s sake do not neglect this
opportunity, because these children are our future
without them the future of our parish and
community is indeed grim and its long-term
survival would be seriously in doubt.
|
| |
Sunday
school
Sunday 9th December we will commence the Sunday
school classes for children between 6- 12 years
old.
The classes will be given in the church hall
whilst the Holy mass is being said. All our
parishioners and friends are welcome to bring
their children within the abovementioned age
group.
This is a great opportunity for us to saw the
seeds of the Armenian culture and religion in our
young. Our children are our investment for the
future.
Thank you for the volunteer teaching staff - Mr
& Mrs Robert Hazari and Miss Laura Baghdisar,
for their kind and generous spirit. |

The
Hayastan all Armenian Fund held its
annual dinner dance on 16.06.07, the
Armenian Catholic Church Council and
Fr Parsegh who represents our
Community in the above fund have
formed part in these celebrations.
The development of the All Armenian
Fund is a great milestone for all
the Armenian organizations and the
Churches in Australia. To see the
various big organizations and
Churches “including our Church”
in Sydney working together under the
one umbrella, warms the heart and it
is indeed something to be proud of.
This is a step forward and a step in
the right direction.
The purpose of the Fund is to Help
Armenia by initiating particular
projects in Armenia. These projects,
when completed, will be financed and
paid for by the abovementioned Fund.
We all know that Armenia needs
all the help we can give her. |
